Tranmere 1 Swindon 0Coca-Cola League One
RESULT: Tranmere 1 Swindon 0 Tranmere scorer: A Kay 47 Tranmere sending off: I Goodison 58
Despite being down to 10 men for over thirty minutes Tranmere were able to hold onto their slender lead and claim all three points. The home side had taken the lead just after half time when Anthony Kay found some space in the Town box to fire past Peter Brezovan. However, Swindon were handed a life-line on the hour mark when Ian Goodison was handed his marching orders for bringing down Simon Cox when he was clean through on goal. The decision ultimatly paid off as Town were unable to capitalise on the numerical advantage and Tranmere held on for the win. The loss leaves Danny Wilson's men perilously close to the drop zone and makes Tuesday's game against local rivals Cheltenham a must win game in their fight for survival.
